Middlebury Consignment and Some Decorating Inspiration

I've been dying to go to Middlebury Consigment in Middlebury, Connecticut for quite some time, and when I finally got there today it did not disappoint!  It's huge

They not only do an amazing selection of high quality consignment, they mix in new pieces as well.  Here are a few pieces of consignment that I really liked...

There were four of these David Francis chairs that were just gorgeous (I'd opt for changing the seat fabric).  Then there was a beautiful farm table and rustic/classic chairs that I was ready to throw in the back of my car...

I was just nuts for the casual elegance of them, and I had my entire dining room redone in my head by the time I walked away. (hmmm... I think a design board may be in order...)

I was crazy for this washed oak number, too, for a client I've yet to meet.  I can see it in a kitchen breakfast nook, with two of the chairs on one side and a built-in banquette under lots of windows on the other side of the table.  Long, linen blue and white large-patterned drapes flanking those windows.  Squishy down pillows on the banquette.  A more modern chandelier.  Are you with me?

There's a section full of new and interesting kitchen gadgets and such.  I almost passed out I love it so much...

I thought these little votives would make a great addition en masse to a fall table...

I must confess I snapped this next picture as inspiration for my Christmas table decorating...

I'm thinking of making something similar (these were all wire branches and very cool).  I'll post it when it's that time ;-)  Are you with me on this one, too -- can you see it?  Oh yes, it's going to happen.  Can you say pinecones and lights and candles...

Really, the store goes on for 4 floors, with a beautiful design center, too, where you can do custom bedding, wallpaper, and more.  I own the place in my dreams.

And if the shopping weren't enough, they have an outstanding cafe, and there is an amazing kitchen next to it where you can eat at the "kitchen counter" and watch the cooks (the dining room is off to the right)...

I can't help but share a great place when I find one.  Really, if you live within driving distance (off Rt 84 in Waterbury Ct), it's totally worth the trip.  I was not, by the way, asked to blog about this.  I was completely moved to do it!!

Hope you all are having a good week.  Talk to you soon,
Carol

High Point Mood Board

This past weekend, I was at my Disney World equivalent -- High Point furniture market in High Point, North Carolina.  If you follow me on Instagram (@6Wilson) you may have seen many of the gorgeous pieces I drooled over.

I thought it would be fun to do a mood board with some of the things I didn't show.  I was inspired by the light fixture and the navy blue ceiling of the showroom it was hanging in.  To create this casual living room, I just pulled photos I had taken, and viola, some of them really made sense together...

I'll be back soon with more pictures.  In the meantime, I'll be working on a newsletter coming out soon, and putting together some new things for 6 Wilson.  Stay tuned!  I hope you'll come along on some new adventures in the coming months ;-)

Monogrammed Metallic Pillows

Over on my Carol Beck Interiors Blog today, I'm talking about 6 Wilson's monogrammed metallic pillows.  Click on the picture to check it out!

Monogrammed Metallic Pillows -- Does It Get Any Better?

Oh people, I have been up to my ears working on my 6 Wilson shop, and neglecting just about everything that isn't gold and silver metallic linen (or a client, of course!).  Can you blame me?

So here's the back story to these luscious, subtly  metallic, casual glam pillows.  About a month ago, one of my fabric reps showed me this metallic linen that took by breath away.  If you know me, you know I stopped breathing.  I knew IMMEDIATELY I had to monogram it and offer it in my shop.  Too gorgeous to not share with the pillow loving world!

These babies can go anywhere, in any decor.  Beach cottage? Yup.  Traditional living room? Yup.  Guest bed?  Oh yes.  The possibilities are endless.

This is the silver metallic with the monogram in a pretty silvery (non metallic) white.   Now, the gold metallic with a golden ivory monogram...

You can also choose from poppy red, emerald green or black monogramming. I am dying for people to see this in person.

Here's a black on gold...

I don't usually do posts geared specifically towards buying a product from me, but I am insanely passionate about this metallic linen (55% linen, 45% cotton) and I really do believe no home is complete without one of these pillows, lol!  Click here to check them out in my 6 Wilson etsy shop.

If you're wondering what you're initials would look like, here they are (except for O and P, woops!)

Thanks for checking these out, really, I appreciate it.  The black and gold one above is a custom order for Abby at Abby M. Interiors, and I can't wait to see where she puts it in her house!  (Oh, keep in mind that these are totally custom, and take about 3 weeks to ship.)

Talk to you soon,
Carol
